Those who play online casino games aren’t usually affected by injury (we don’t think, anyway), but in the UFC, there has been a rash of injuries, particularly to the 205-pound division. Two former champions have dealt with these injuries and find themselves meeting for the second time as Rashad Evans takes on Tito Ortiz in Philadelphia at UFC 133 in a match that will have a major affect on who meets the next champion.
UFC Betting – Saturday, August 6th, 9:00 PM ET
Evans (15-1-1-) was supposed to fight former teammate and champion Jon Jones, but Jones suffered a hand injury (that Evans thinks was overblown) and will fight “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135 instead. Evans, an excellent wrestler, has beaten Thiago Silva and Jackson, his bitter rival and fellow coach in the 10th season of “The Ultimate Fighter”.
Ortiz (16-8-1) was on his way out of the UFC, but a stunning submission of Ryan Bader in early July put him in position for this match after Phil Davis suffered an injury while training for this match. Ortiz had lost four of his last five matches before the Bader fight, and he showed that he still has something left in the tank.
Sports betting odds have Evans as a massive -450 favorite in this rematch with Ortiz, who is rated at +325, and these two met in July 2007, fighting to a draw after Ortiz was docked a point for holding onto the cage. It's no Bet Online scam, that was Evans’ first big fight and he handled it well; he has only gotten better since, and while the Bader win was a nice story, Ortiz is on the downside of his career. Take Rashad Evans in a decision in your sports betting online book. |

In less than two weeks, the third and final stage of the Triple Crown, the 2011 Belmont Stakes betting race will commence. With close to 15 horses running in this year's Belmont betting event, sports handicappers from around the world will be enticed to discover that both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winners will be a part of this year's Belmont field. Today we will be looking at the favorites for the Belmont Stakes.
Whether you are making a straight bet or a trifecta, chances are you will have one of Animal Kingdom, Shackleford or Derby runner up Nehro in your wager. Last week, when the Belmont Stakes betting lines opened, all three of the aforementioned horses, went off at the same odds of four to one to win the race. It comes as no surprise that Animal Kingdom and Shackleford would be considered identical favorites, but Nehro, really?
Nehro finished a narrow second in the Kentucky Derby, to winner Animal Kingdom. However, instead of racing in the Preakness Stakes, Nehro's owners chose to pull their horse out of the second stage of the Triple Crown, in order to train extra hard for the Belmont Stakes. Also comparable to Animal Kingdom, Nehro is a distance horse that has ridden at Belmont before. Yet, for the casual breeders cup betting fan, betting on Nehro probably won't happen, because the horse hasn't run a race in nearly a month.
Animal Kingdom is a horse that will be on all bettors' radars. After winning the Kentucky Derby as a 30 to one long shot, Animal Kingdom shocked the horse racing field, by coming out of seemingly nowhere to lose to Shackleford by less than a length at the Preakness Stakes. With the grueling one and a half mile track at Belmont Park, many horse experts feel this track was built for Animal Kingdom. |

The 2011 Belmont Stakes odds are only a few short weeks away. With the potential to be the most viewed Belmont betting event in the last decade, officials of the Triple Crown and owners of the horses in the first two stages of the three stage race, are trying to figure out which horses will ride in the June 11th event. With only two and a half weeks left till post time, here is a preview of the upcoming Belmont Stakes.
With the Belmont betting lines opening earlier this week, race handicapping fans were startled to learn that not one, not two but three horses shared identical odds as the favorite for the race. After winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, it came as no surprise to many that Animal Kingdom and Shackleford would be the favorites for the race. Having said that, if you had seen the return of Nehro as a worthy enough to be considered a favorite for the Belmont Stakes, then we'll just call you a genie.
All three horses opened the Belmont wagering lines as identical four to one favorites to win the Belmont Stakes. In theory, Nehro is the most intriguing horse of the three, as after finishing second in the Kentucky Derby, the colt skipped the Preakness in order to train extra hard for the Belmont Stakes. Nehro comparable to Animal Kingdom is a distance horse that can close the gap fast on a speed horse setting the early pace. Considering it maintained its second position for the entire Kentucky Derby, Nehro should be a wise choice come race day at Belmont Parks.
Another horse with decent odds for the Belmont Stakes, is Mucho Macho Man. Despite finishing a disappointing sixth at Pimlico last weekend, many experts feel like Mucho Macho Man can regain its third place form from the Kentucky Derby a month ago. |

PayPerHead.com, an online sportsbook service provider for local agents, today unveiled a new campaign featuring Vince Curatola, Johnny Sack of The Sopranos fame.
The campaign leads with Vince asking "Five bucks per head, that's what I wanna pay..." and the website, featuring video and voice overs by Vince, walks you through the product, the process and the competition.
"Five bucks a head is really an industry first given our level of service," a spokesman from PayPerHead.com explained. "And we very carefully and in great detail delineate on the website exactly what you get and at what price level at PayPerHead versus the other serious players, such as IDSca."
And what you get is a lot, including not only the traditional online sports betting management services but an optional casino, live poker, in game live betting, mobile betting, tools for managing players and their funds, layoff and scalp accounts, even a "sharp check." "We have the sharpest lines out there and one of the most experienced stages anywhere offshore," the spokesman said, "so if we start seeing sharp action from one of your players, we can give you a heads up. What you want to do with him is up to you."
The choice of Vince Curatola was an interesting one. "We always liked Vince's character on The Sopranos, as John "Johnny Sack" Sacramoni," the PayPerHead spokesman said. "He had a certain style, classy, but not over the top; there's a calmness and authority about him that we really admire. He brings that serious business demeanor to PayPerHead.com, the first sportsbook-service to EVER feature any kind of celebrity in its marketing."
With post-up books like BetUS, Sportsbook.com and SportsInteraction stopping taking US players, Bodog and others struggling with "Ecom" processing problems, the street scene is heating up and players are posting daily in forums looking for a "local out." Players want the huge selection of markets, including live in-game betting, and the convenience of anytime betting online or via their mobile, but more and more say "they want to bet online but prefer to settle in cash on Monday."
Is this the future of online sports betting? Quite possibly. And with firms like PayPerHead.com investing in marketing in an unprecedented way (celebs, who'd have thunk it?!) and in product (they also offer live poker, casino and in-game betting), expect to see this sector grow significantly this season.
