Belmont Stakes Prediction

Belmont StakesThe 2011 Belmont Stakes odds are only a few short weeks away. With the potential to be the most viewed Belmont betting event in the last decade, officials of the Triple Crown and owners of the horses in the first two stages of the three stage race, are trying to figure out which horses will ride in the June 11th event. With only two and a half weeks left till post time, here is a preview of the upcoming Belmont Stakes.

With the Belmont betting lines opening earlier this week, race handicapping fans were startled to learn that not one, not two but three horses shared identical odds as the favorite for the race. After winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, it came as no surprise to many that Animal Kingdom and Shackleford would be the favorites for the race. Having said that, if you had seen the return of Nehro as a worthy enough to be considered a favorite for the Belmont Stakes, then we'll just call you a genie.

All three horses opened the Belmont wagering lines as identical four to one favorites to win the Belmont Stakes. In theory, Nehro is the most intriguing horse of the three, as after finishing second in the Kentucky Derby, the colt skipped the Preakness in order to train extra hard for the Belmont Stakes. Nehro comparable to Animal Kingdom is a distance horse that can close the gap fast on a speed horse setting the early pace. Considering it maintained its second position for the entire Kentucky Derby, Nehro should be a wise choice come race day at Belmont Parks.

Another horse with decent odds for the Belmont Stakes, is Mucho Macho Man. Despite finishing a disappointing sixth at Pimlico last weekend, many experts feel like Mucho Macho Man can regain its third place form from the Kentucky Derby a month ago.
