Super Bowl Odds – Packers, Steelers, Patriots Favored For Upcoming Season

When it comes to betting odds, it should be no surprise that Green Bay, Pittsburgh and New England head the list of favorites to win the Super Bowl whenever this season starts due to the lockout, as these three teams have combined to win six of the last 10 Super Bowls. However, they’ll have a large group of teams hot on their heels.

The Packers (+600) are favored to repeat, while New England (+650) isn’t far behind, and Pittsburgh (+950) is offering some great value ahead of the season. Green Bay won’t have an easy road through the NFC, but the Steelers are the defending AFC champions and are a more versatile team than the Patriots, who have some issues to work out, but no time to work them out because of the stoppage. All three have great quarterbacks, while Green Bay and Pittsburgh have the edge on New England in terms of defense.

San Diego (+1000), Atlanta (+1400), Baltimore (+1400), Indianapolis (+1500), New Orleans (+1500), the New York Jets (+1500), New Orleans (+1500), Philadelphia (+1500) and the New York Giants (+1800) are all on the second tier when it comes to Super Bowl challengers, and out of this group, the Falcons, Colts, Jets and Eagles are probably the best equipped to put up a fight. But since everyone is playing on a level field in terms of preparation due to the lockout, this upcoming NFL season is shaping up to be as unpredictable as playing US poker sites.

Patriots Ready To Roll To Super Bowl

The New England Patriots are the Super Bowl favorites to start the season and that’s right where they belong. As a matter of fact, that is where they will belong for the next little while.

The Patriots won 11 games last year without Tom Brady, who has the potential to be an NFL MVP. Now that he’s back, the Patriots could be downright lethal.

The reason the Patriots are the favorites to win the Super Bowl is because we’re essentially talking about a team that went perfect through the regular season two years ago and has improved since.

Brady is back, the defense is younger and the offense has added some parts.

Joey Galloway and Fred Taylor were added in the offseason and both veterans could have very big impacts for their new team. If the Galloway and Taylor do add a new dynamic to an offense that trashed the record books in 2007, the Patriots could be unstoppable.

On defense, the Patriots are younger, faster and stronger than years before, which is a scary thought. They don’t need to have the best defense in the league – they just need a unit to slow teams down.

With the addition of Jerod Mayo last year and Derrick Burgess this year, the Patriots linebacking corps is revamped and it should be more than capable of slowing teams down.

This is the best coached team in the league and they don’t appear to have any holes. That’s why they are the favorites and that’s why they will be until someone shows us otherwise.
